A memorial service has been held in honour of Patroness Pauline Agbomma Okafor of Ire village Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka local government area.


The service, held at Saint Theresa’s Catholic Church Enugwu-Ukwu attracted her family members, members of the People’s Club of Nigeria, friends and we’ll wishers.


Correspondent, Queen Anigbogu reports that in a homily during the ceremony, the officiating priest, Reverend Father Christopher Ezeonu, spoke on the importance of the faithful to emulate the Holy Family of Joseph, Mary and Jesus Christ in their own lives.


Reverend Father Ezeonu, who is also the Assistant Manager, Saint Mary’s High School Ifite -Dunu, said when people give sincere respect and reverence to their parents they attract blessings.


In an interview, the first son of the deceased, Pastor Christopher Okafor, described his mother as one of the greatest woman that ever lived, who every son or daughter would wish to have as a mother.


He thanked all that graced the occasion and prayed for the blessings of God upon them.


Also speaking, the second son, Chief Mike Okafor, a patron of People’s Club of Nigeria, who described their late mother as loving, said the event marked one year she transited to eternal glory.


In his remark, the National President of People’s Club of Nigeria, Sir Joe Ilonze, explained that the deceased was a Patroness of the club and charged the children to love one another and continue to live in unity.


In their separate comments, the daughters, Ladies Chinwemma Omani, Veronica Anaefuna and Chinwe Okafor, spoke in glowing terms about their late mother and assured their continued love for her.


Contributing, one of the grandsons, Pastor Tagbo Aniefuna, asked his uncles and aunts to show love to one another, be hardworking as well as God fearing.
Special prayers, thanksgiving and administration of the sacrament of Holy Communion to the faithful featured during the ceremony.


Later after the service at the church, the family of the deceased accompanied by their guests, returned to the family compound where prayers were said at the graveside.
