Power Supply is to be restored in Uli community before the end of January this year.This was disclosed during the 2019 Uli Cultural Day celebration which attracted sons and daughters of Uli both at home and in the diaspora who gathered at Uli Center for the annual celebration.


Uli center, venue of the event was filled to capacity as all the quarters and clans in Uli, Ndi nze, Igwe’s cabinet, all branches of Uli Progressive Union within and outside the country, friends and well wishers of the community trooped out en-mass for the celebration.The traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Damian Onyekonwu represented by the traditional Prime Minister Honourable Vitalis Okafor thanked the people of the community for their commitment
towards the development of Uli town, adding that the annual age long
event has helped them to achieve infrastructural development through
fund raising.


Also speaking, the President General of the community, Engineer Tobias
Obiagazie said that lack of electricity was the major challenge facing
the community but thanked God that through the efforts and contributions of members of the community, electricity will be permanently restored in the town.


Engineer Obiagazie thanked all who are contributing towards achieving
peaceful and sustainable development with especially youths.


On their part, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Obiano on
Community Liaison, Honourable Hypolitus Ekwegbara and the Permanent
Secretary, Ministry of Works, Barrister Emeka Ohuoha said they have
embarked on building of General Hospital which is seventy percent
completed through fund raised at the Cultural Day which they said is
a constitutional event that has been celebrated for years where they
showcase cultural endowment of Uli town and teach the younger generation
their cultural heritage for sustainability.


Contributing, one of the cabinet Chiefs, Ichie Emmanuel Igbonwelundu,
the Vice President of the UPU, Sir Matthew Ohaesukosi, the General
Secretary, Engineer Adam Nwagbaoso and Professor Ferdinand Oduenyi
thanked God for the success of the event.
