There is a saying that one is remembered for his or her good deeds.


Moreover, a life well lived remains ever green in the memory of those left behind and such people need to be celebrated.


The family of Mbaogaranya in Uli, Ihiala Local Government Area deemed it fit to remember their parents late Ichie Gilbert Otubochi and their mother late Lolo Grace Ekenma Mbaogaranya after twelve years of their demise.


A memorial service was held in honour of late Chief and Lolo Mbaogaranya at Saint Gabriel Anglican Church Uli, presided over by the Anglican Bishop of Ihiala Diocese, Rt. Reverend Professor Israel Okoye.


Delivering a sermon at the service, Bishop Okoye said that the late Chief and Lolo Mbaogaranya left good legacies and trained their children with the fear of God to become useful members of the society, urging them to continue in the good legacies of their parents.


Bishop Okoye lamented that some parents when they failed in their responsibility of child upbringing, blamed teachers who he said may not be able to correct the errors created from home, advising parents to uphold their marital vows for their children to follow suit.

The family of Mbaogaranya were later accompanied by relations, friends and well wishers to the alter for thanksgiving to God for his sustenance since the death of their parents.


After the service, Bishop Okoye prayed at the graves of Late Chief and Lolo Mbaogaranya at their compound followed by a brief reception to mark the event where guests were entertained and different musical groups including IMO State Police Command band performed.


In his speech , the first child of the family and the administrative Secretary to the Anambra state Universal Basic Education Board Chairman Mrs. Uchenna Okeke, thanked God for his mercy and for keeping them united, noting that though their father died at the age of sixty-nine and their mother at sixty-six, a month after the burial of her late husband, they took care of them in all aspects.


The last daughter of Chief and Lolo Mbaogaranya, Nnedinma and the wife of their first son Lolo Chizoba Mbaogaranya said their parents were teachers and good administrators who laid good foundation for the family which he said the children are following till now, while Mr. Alexander Chukwuemeka said the late couple trained him up to university level from eleven years and made him what he is today.


Some friends of the family, including Chief Tobechukwu Onuwa and Mr. Kenechukwu Achor said they know the family for hard work and sincerity.
The children later took to the dancing stage.
