It was a moment of thanksgiving and praises to God as the Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs holds a prayer session to start the New Year.
The prayer session which was held at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Center, Awka, was attended by the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, Mrs. Amaka Ezike, the Special Adviser to the Governor On Disability Matters, Barrister Chuks Ezewuzie, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Dan Ezeanwu, Pastor Ugochukwu Ekwem of Christ Living Hope Miracle Church, among other prominent people .
In her address, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Lady Ndidi said the Ministry is always committed to initiating programmes and activities that will continue to address the plight of Women, Children and persons with disabilities, the aged and other vulnerable groups in the state.
She said it is important to start the year with prayers as it was by the grace of God that they passed through last year and ready to journey into this year.
Lady Ndidi charged all staff in her Ministry to be dedicated to duty, see the job as their own and seek peace with all as their success and inputs will in no small measure strengthen productivity in the Ministry.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Disability Matters, Barrister Chuks Ezewuzie said it is important to put God first in all one does stating that they are having it so good with Lady Ndidi because she has the fear of God.
While delivering a message, a visiting Pastor, Prophet Ugochukwu Ekwem said in Christ, no one will experience crisis as he created all with different talents.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Ezeanwu on behalf of his the workers of the Ministry, extolled the Commissioner for laying a foundation and vision for the ministry so that the anointing of God will be abundant for them and pledge their total support to her.
Women groups from Methodist Church of Nigeria and Salvation Army led by Deaconess Comfort Onugha were also in attendance while prayer session formed the highlights.
