The Bishop emeritus of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Maxwell Anikwenwa and a Biafran war veteran, Major General Festus Madueke, have recounted their experiences during Nigeria Biafran War in a radio program of the ABS, Nzuko Anambra.


Bishop Anikwenwa said war does not solve any problems rather it brings destruction explaining that a country without a history is not a country, noting that the restoration of history in schools will teach Nigerian children who they are.


The Prelate who commended Governor Willie Obiano for upgrading the ABS to its present status stressed the need for Ndigbo to unite and bring more development to the region.


In his comments, the Biafran war veteran,Major Madueke spoke on the importance of remembering the victims of the war especially the living and cautioned youths against instigating issues that may cause a repeat of the war.


Contributing to the program through a whatsapp message, Chief Uche Nworah, recounted his experience as a child born during the war saying that the emotional and psychological trauma still lingers but thanked God for bringing Ndigbo this far.
He noted that they remember all those that paid the supreme price during the war and will always tell their story.


Others who contributed through phone calls and social media including Chinaemeze, Daniel Okobo Ifeanyi Nnaemeka ,among others spoke against a repeat of the war.


The program came to an end with a prayer for the nation by Most Reverend Anikwenwa.
