Two Sons of the Late Owelle of Onitsha, Chief Nnamdi Azikiwe have been initiated into the Agbalanze Society of Onitsha.

The ceremony which took place at Ogbeabo village Square Onitsha attracted people from all walks of life.

Ozo title taking is one of customs and tradition held in high esteem in Onitsha and it is as old as the Ancient kingdom itself.

It is the dream of an average Onitsha man to belong to that class, hence, the dreams of Messrs Molokwu and Uwakwe Azikiwe came into fulfillment.

The President, Agbalanze Society of Onitsha, Chief Uchenna Mbanefo in an interview noted that the celebrants are of age to be initiated, adding that they have done what their forefathers did while challenging them to uphold the tenet of the group.

Their mother, Professor Mrs Uche Azikiwe said she is fulfilled to witness the initiation of her sons into the prestigious Society describing Ozo title taking as one of the rich cultural heritage of Onitsha people and advised her children to uphold the values of the Society.

Chiefs Molokwu and Uwakwe Azikiwe whose title names are Ojinnaka and Okunwa said they are fulfilled as Onitsha men as it is the aspiration of any Onitsha man to hold an Ozo title and promised to do the right thing that will help move the society to the next level.
Some of their visitors, including Chiefs Anthony Ogugua from Igbariam and Felix Ewa from Afikpo reminded them that they are now part of decision makers in the town and therefore should always stand by the truth.

Initiation dance by the celebrants, in the midst of members of the Agbalanze Society and dance by various traditional dance troops, added glamour to the event.
