The state Ministry of Public Utility has deployed a fourteen seater bus to Facility Monitoring Team of the Ministry for prompt intervention during emergency.


The team, which is the brain child of the Commissioner for Public Utility, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne stands to ensure that street lights and water facilities are functional.


While handing over the bus to the chairman of the team at Ministry of Public Utilities, Government House Awka, Commissioner Ezenwanne said that Willie Obiano’s administration is poised to providing basic amenities and infrastructure to Ndi Anambra hence the need to equip the team with necessary logistics for the smooth monitoring of the projects.


He disclosed that the major aim of creating the team is to interface with communities to protect all government facilities in their domain noting that they have apprehended many who knocked down street light poles and those that tampered with water facilities and installations.


Receiving the bus, the chairman of the Team, Mr. Dozie Akunne commended the Governor and the Commissioner for the gesture adding that those who caught vandalizing the projects have been charged to court.


In his remark, the Permanent Secretary, Reverend Polycarp Amanzechukwu said that the Commissioner has re-awaken their zeal to seeing to the protection and preservation of projects cited in the state.
