Anambra State government says its fight against fake revenue collectors is total.
To this end no fewer than fifteen persons believed to be illegal revenue collectors were recently arrested at various locations in Onitsha.
The suspects were apprehended by security operatives working with the newly inaugurated Focus Initiative against Touting.
Items found in their possession were currencies, tickets with Anambra State government emblem embossment and markers.
Parading the suspects the Anambra State Commissioner for Transport Dr Christian Madubuko said they will soon be arraigned in line with the mandate given to the Anti touting squad.
He described as embarrassing a situation where some people will unlawfully pose as government revenue agents to extort money from unsuspecting members of the public.
Dr Madubuko, while reiterating the determination of the Anambra State government to sustain the fight against touting, urged the public to be vigilant and report any body suspected to be a fake revenue agent for immediate action.
Recall that about eighteen persons had earlier been arrested for engaging in illegal revenue collection by the team.
