Nigerians have been advised to Imbibe fire safety measures  and shun careless handling of inflamable materials.
Governor Obiano who stated this when he led government officials and others to Blessed Iwene Tansi Center, Nnewi for remembrance mass for Saint Agnes’ contribution to the church of Christ, as well as  Bishop Hillary Okeke of Nnewi Catholic Diocese birthday mass, called on religious leaders to use their positions to educate their congregation against indiscriminate bush burning .

The mass celebration was also for the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi, Most Reverend Hillary Okeke’s   seventy three birthday. 

Governor Obiano who lammented the high rate of bush burning and fire disaster in the country, appealed to the people to ensure that they acquire fire extinguisher to enhance prompt response to emergencies.He  urgef the people to desist from bush burning for safety of lives and property of the country at large,. 
The Governor while commending the contributions of Bishop Okeke to humanity, observed  that God loves the Bishop and blessed him with long years, adding that he is making good use of the long years to serve God and humanity, and prayed God to grant him more fulfilled years.

Earlier in a homily, Monsignor Hippolytus Adigwe incharge of evangelism in Nnewi Diocese extolled the contributions of Saint Agnes who lived a Christ-like life, and asked youths to emulate her examplary life style.

Bishop Okeke, while  felicitating with  the Governor on his recent investiture as the Commander of the Pontifical Order of Saint Gregory the Great KCSG, commended him for celebrating Saint Agnes’ birthday and his with the congregation
