Governor Willie Obiano has called on wealthy individuals to register more indigent persons under the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme, ASHIA, to enable them benefit from the scheme and improve their health status.
The Governor made the call during the official Flagg off of Dozzy Foundation Health Insurance Scheme For one thousand five hundred Okija indigenes at Okija General Hospital.
Governor Obiano represented by his Deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke who described the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme as an initiative instituted to uplift the health status of Ndi Anambra at affordable price, said that the aim of the project will be fully actualized if well to do individuals will get more less privileged persons registered.
The Governor commended Chief Daniel Chukwudozie for supporting the state government’s health initiative, and called on more individuals and groups to emulate him.
In a remark, the Executive Secretary Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi assured that the agency will provide quality healthcare services to Ndi Anambra through the scheme, which he described as one of the legacy projects of the Obiano led administration, and encouraged more people to register with the agency in order to enjoy benefits imbedded in the scheme.
In their various remarks, the Chairman of Dozzy group, Chief Chukwudozie and the wife, Lady Ada Chukwudozie while commending the Governor for providing such a laudable health scheme for people of the state, said they decided to get the one thousand five hundred persons registered under the scheme to support the project and upgrade the life span of people in the area through quality healthcare delivery, and promised to get more people registered.
Some of the beneficiaries that spoke to the ABS including Mr. James Ewuzie and Mrs. Bridget Nwangbo, appreciated the benefactor for giving them the opportunity to enroll freely under the health insurance scheme, praying God to bless and keep him.
The event featured registration of Beneficiaries with Anambra State Insurance Scheme, ASHIA, and upgrading of Okija General Hospital which has been renovated by Chief Daniel Chukwudozie of the Dozzy Group, while songs of solidarity chanted for the benefactor by Okija women added glamour to the event.
