The Commissioner for Public Utilities, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne says the present administration is poised to provide Ndi Anambra with basic amenities to make life meaningful for them.


Engineer Ezenwanne stated this at the Odene axis of the Omabala River, Aguleri during the inspection of the Otuocha regional water scheme.


The water project which is powered by the state government in partnership with the European Union will commence reticulating water to Aguleri, Umueri and Umuoba Anam respectively April, this year.


Speaking to newsmen shortly after the inspection, Engineer Ezenwanne said that from the treatment plant, the water will go to the over head tank which is four hundred cubic meters situated at Father Joseph Catholic Church Aguleri from where it will reticulate to various areas . He disclosed that with the water project, people of the area will no longer lack water adding that the treated water will also improve their health status.


The Special Adviser to Governor Obiano on Political matters, Chief Ifeatu Obiokoye who was excited with the development stated that it is a legacy project promised to Ndi Anambra for domestic use and promotion of agriculture.


Chief Obiokoye called on people of the area to take proper care of the project, by ensuring that it is not vandalized by hoodlums.


For the President, Aguleri National Youth Association, Chief Nnamdi Adimora-Ikeli, Governor Obiano has done well in providing them with portable water which no administration has done stressing that from time immemorial, the people of the area have been drinking from water sources without being treated thereby exposing them to health hazards.


Chief Adimora -Ikeli remarked that Ndi Anambra East will now enjoy portable water which will promote their healthy living notING that the Governor has transformed the various sectors of the state economy as well as engage the youth meaningfully.
