The Anambra State House of Assembly is making provisions for office accommodation for a liaison officer who will be interfacing between the House and the Nigerian Correctional Service to enhance service delivery.


The Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr. Uche Okafor disclosed this when the Key functionaries of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Anambra State Command paid him courtesy visit in his office.


House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that while noting that such office will guarantee effective communication between the two institutions, Mr. Okafor commended them for taking proper care of inmates under them as most of them leave prisons better rehabilitated.


The Speaker commended the Institution and other security outfits for working in synergy to give Ndi Anambra a sustainable security.


In his remark, the Comptroller, Nigerian Correctional Service, Anambra State Command, Mr. Emmanuel Nwakaeze explained that the essence of the courtesy visit was to synergize with the House on areas of mutual interest and to commend them for passing the Child’s Right Bill, Disability Bill among others.


Mr. Nwakaeze called on youths to emulate Mr. Okafor who he described as a young vibrant legislator, adding that his emergence as the Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, showed that Nigeria holds a brighter future for her youths.


Similarly, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka Alumni Association, Awka Branch paid a courtesy visit on the Speaker.
According to the President of the Association, Dr. Ngozi Ulogu, the visit was to familiarize with the Speaker who is an alumnus of the university.


Receiving the Association, Mr. Okafor assured them of his support to the realization of their vision.
