In a bid to boost the country’s security, the Nigerian Air force has inducted three combat helicopters which it added to its fleet at the Eagle Square in Abuja today.


The combat helicopters include two Augusta 109 and one Mi-171E combat helicopters.


Our Abuja crew, reports that the ceremony was an exhibition of numerous air displays and simulation exercises which focused on rescue operations and engagement of bandits and other threats to national security.


With this addition, the Nigerian Air force now has a total of over twenty new air vehicles since 2015.


In his speech, President Muhammadu Buhari, stated that the acquisition was necessary to boost the operation of the air force especially on counter terrorism and insurgencies.


He urged the Nigerian Air force as well as other security operatives to intensify efforts in fighting terrorism especially in the northeast and northwest regions of the country.
