Awka community has lauded Governor Willie Obiano for his doggedness that led to the establishment of a court of Appeal in the area.
Speaking during an interaction with Abuchi Nwozor in his palace, the traditional ruler of the community, Obi Gibson Nwosu maintained that the Awka division of the Appellate Court will apart from saving legal practitioners and litigants time and stress of going to Appeal Court Enugu, will equally create employment opportunities for the people.
According to Obi Nwosu, numerous projects of the Obiano administration in Awka the state capital is a clear indication that the government is committed to giving Awka a face lift.
He listed the three flyover bridges, street lights, massive road reconstruction as well as the ongoing construction of an International Conference center in Awka as clear testmonies that Governor Willie Obiano meant well for Awka community and reassured the Governor of the unalloyed support of the people of Awka.
Obi Nwosu, who is also the patron of Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, also felicitated with Governor Obiano on the Knight Commander of the Pontifical Order of Saint Gregory the Great, conferred on him by Pope Francis describing it as a reward for hard work.
The traditional ruler of Awka community advised the citizenry to desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse which he noted is defacing the environment.
On the prevalence of Lassa fever and other dreaded viruses, Obi Nwosu called for more enlightenment campaigns on preventive measures to check the scourge.
