Victims of the fire incident that claimed one life in a welder workshop in Amawbia by pass junction sometime in January are still nursing their wounds.
ABS correspondent Ngozi Obileri visited the victims at the hospital and reports that the victims who were two women, Mrs. Uzomaka Ugwu and a widow Mrs. Chidiebere Ezeh were rushed to Princeton orthopedic hospital Ngozika Housing estate Awka immediately after the incident by men of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra state command.
Management of the hospital swung into action immediately to give medication which stabilized their condition.
ABS crew visited the hospital to know how the victims are responding to treatment.
The victims were inside one ward, and entrance into the ward was too bad a sight to behold.
ABS proceeded and saw the Chief Medical Director of the hospital Dr Amaechi Nwachukwu for explanations on their chances of recovering fully and their the financial implications, he explained that the woman with twenty degree burns needed seven hundred thousand naira while the woman with sixty degree burns has accumulated one point five million naira so far.
ABS was also informed that the woman with sixty percent degree of burns still have more than one month to stay in the hospital.
This means that they solely depend on the mercy of God and spirited individuals to give them succour including providing food items to them as they are being fed by the hospital management.
How the money for their bills will be raised is a story for another day, even as a little prayer for their quick recovery would be appreciated.
