The Anambra state Government has intensified effort at containing the outbreak and spread of coronavirus, Lassa fever and other contagious diseases in the state.


In the latest of her attempt to reach all segments of the society, the Office of Public Orientation and Special Duties has been mounting enlightenment campaigns at markets churches and other public foray.


Enlightening worshippers at Saint Gabriel’s Catholic Church Ifitedunu, Dunukofia Council Area, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Orientation and Special Duties, Mrs Ify Obinabo urges them to imbibe protective measures to avoid contracting the deadly diseases.


She enumerated some of the protective measures to include; regular washing of hands, avoidance of body contact and eating of uncooked food.


She counseled the congregation to maintain general cleanliness in their homes and avoid contact with rats and bats which are the two animals that could infect man with the deadly diseases.


Mrs Obinabo reminded the people that there is yet no immediate cure for the diseases, hence, the need for all to be extremely careful.


Mrs Obinabo has been visiting markets, churches, motor parks and public places to create awareness on the dangers of coronavirus and Lassa fever, since their recent outbreaks.
