A four-day state-wide immunization campaign against polio for children
below fifty-nine months, embarked upon by Anambra State Primary
Healthcare Development Agency, enters its second day.
The Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr Mrs. Chioma Ezenyimulu
called on parents, caregivers and all stakeholders to join hands in
making the immunization campaign a huge success, adding that schools,
churches, mosques and other places where children are found will be
visited during the exercise.
Dr Mrs. Ezenyimulu disclosed that the state government is ever ready
to respond to health emergencies and give NdiAnambra adequate
healthcare services.
Correspondent, Joseph Egbeocha reports that Dr Ezeenyimulu, who noted
that the state government last week, organized Maternal, Newborn and
Child Health Week, where routine immunization were administered to
children, explained that the latest immunization campaign is timely
response to circulating Vaccine Derived Polio Viruses, which broke out
in Kogi State late last year.
