The Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Events, Sir Anthony Ugorji has been initiated into the prestigious Ozo Society of Nri Community in Anaocha Local Government Area.
The event, attracted people from all walks of life, including Governor Willie Obiano, represented by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Chief Uche Nworah, the Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor, the traditional ruler of Enugwu-Ukwu, Igwe Ralph Ekpeh and members of his Cabinet, among others.
The famous Egwu Ozo instrumentals ushered in Ndi Ozo, traditional rulers and other titled and revered men, who took turn to display their mastery and dexterity of the instrumentals, through their dancing skills and acrobatics, including the celebrant, Sir Anthony.
Felicitating with the celebrant, Governor Willie Obiano represented by Chief Uche Nworah, noted that he has great respect for the customs and traditions of Ndigbo, hence his administration’s resolve to keep promoting the positive aspect of the Igbo customs and traditions always.
Governor Obiano charged the celebrant to adhere strictly to the norms and tenets of Ozo titled men which among other things is to always say the truth as well as be an ambassador of peace.
Contributing, the traditional ruler of Enugwu-Ukwu, Igwe Ralph Ekpeh described Sir Anthony as very humble, hardworking and honest man, whose antecedents speak for him and prayed that God will give him the resources and wisdom that will enable him to excel in his new position.
In their various remarks, the Member representing, Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Mr. Dozie Nwankwo, the President- General of Nri, Oba Kelvin Obaegbunam and the Member representing, Anambra West Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr. Patrick Obalum-Udoba, all prayed God to bless and guide the celebrant and his family.
Earlier, the celebrant Sir Anthony Ugorji who was given the title of Ozo Ebube Chukwu thanked God for making the initiation possible, even as he showered praises on Governor Willie Obiano for his fatherly role and expressed profound gratitude to those that graced the event.
Some of the dignitaries that attended the event were, the Principal Secretary to Governor Willie Obiano, Sir Willie Nwokoye, a one-time Member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Ifeanyi Ibezi, the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to Governor Willie Obiano, Mr Emeka Ozumba, the Member representing Njikoka Constituency Two at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Sir Pete Ibida, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Liaison, Comrade Obi Ochije Modilim, an APGA Chieftain, Chief Olisah Aniunoh, among others.
