The State House of Assembly has passed a resolution urging the state Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, to take proactive action against Tipper drivers along Akwa-Ozubulu-Atani Road.
House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that the House passed the resolution following a motion sponsored to that effect by the member representing Ekwusigo Constituency, Honorable Onyebuchi Ofor during plenary.
Explaining the motion, Honourable Ofor, who is also the Minority leader lamented series of fatal accidents that occur at the area, especially at Akwa village Ozubulu, along Ozubulu -Atani road due to reckless driving by tippers.
On his part, the member representing Dunukofia Constituency, Chief Lawrence Ezeudu noted that the recklessness of Tipper drivers along Ozubulu -Atani road needs to be checkmated to avoid further casualties.
The Speaker of the House, Right Honourable Uche Okafor urged the FRSC to rise and arrest the ugly trend.
