The decision making body in Enugwu-Ukwu Njikoka Local Government Area has officially announced the death of Chief Christian Mmuogbo Nwogbo of Uruokwe Village.


The group led by the traditional ruler of the Community, Igwe Ralph Ekpeh also announced that the burial rites for the late Chief Nwogbo will take place on Seventeenth April 2020.



The late Chief Christian Nwogbo aged ninety-four was a member of the decision making body in the Community in charge of conflict resolution.


Announcing the demise of Chief Nwogbo, the traditional ruler of the Community, Igwe Ekpeh said Engwu-ukwu has lost an industrious son who was known for peace and positive contributions to the development of the Community.


Igwe Ekpeh disclosed that they will accord him all necessary honour deserving of a Cabinet member, stating that his seat at the palace will remain vacant for one year.


A cultural proponent in the Community, Chief Clement Nwafor said Chief Nwogbo was known for peace.


While extolling the lifestyle of the deceased, another cultural proponent in the community who is also the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Chief Uche Nworah went down memory lane on how Chief Nwogbo contributed to the growth of Enugwu-Ukwu Community.


Earlier while welcoming the delegation, a relation of the deceased, Chief Ernest Okoye appreciated Igwe Ekpeh and members of the group for the steps taken to ensure that they give Chief Nwogbo a befitting burial.


On her part, the first daughter of the Late Chief Christian Nwogbo, Dr Nneka Anagor while regretting the demise of their father said the vacuum created will be hard to fill and assured that they will celebrate their father as a great man.
