The member representing Njikoka Two Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Dr. Pete Ibida has drilled a borehole for Eziobodoili Village, Abagana, to tackle the problem of water scarcity in the area.
The Borehole project sited at the Village square is the first of its kind in the history of the people.
House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim was there and reports that while commissioning the project, Dr. Ibida revealed that the project was a request that came from the people and was borne out of love and passion to alleviate the sufferings of his constituents.
Dr Ibida who noted that the project has direct bearing on the lives of the people as human beings cannot do without water assured that he will drill more boreholes across the ten wards in Njikoka Two Constituency.
According to him, he has assisted the constituency with employment, free Medicare, admission, scholarship programme among others in his bid to improve the standard of living of his people. Appreciating the lawmaker for his kind gesture, the Chairman, Eziobodoili Village, Mr Obiora Iloani noted that Dr Ibida has addressed their pressing need as water is one of the essential needs of his people, assuring that they will take full ownership of the project to prevent vandalism.
In her remark, the Woman Leader, Abagana Ward Three, Mrs Patricia Onwubuya described Dr Ibida as a compassionate person who did what indigenes of Abagana who represented the Constituency in the past could not do for the town.
In their remarks, the Special Assistant to Governor Obiano on Community Liaison, Mr Izuchukwu Ugokwe and the Director General, Dr Pete Ibida Campaign Organization, Mr Francis Obidike who described the lawmaker as the best thing that has happened to Njikoka Two Constituency disclosed that he accomplished so many people oriented projects aimed at fighting poverty, unemployment, and boost the socio-economic welfare of his constituents
