The need for all hands to be on deck to ensure that Anambra State does not record any incidence of Corona-virus has been stressed.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okpala made the call during a sensitization workshop for hotel proprietors, Inter-State transporters among other relevant stakeholders, organized by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport as well as Culture, Indigenous Artworks and Diaspora Affairs in Awka.
The Commissioner for Health said that the sensitization was meant to enlighten all the relevant stakeholders, especially hotel proprietors and Inter-State transporters on the need for them to know about the disease, avoid it by adhering to all preventive measures.
Dr. Okpala explained that the Ministry of Health has carried out series of enlightenment campaigns to educate Ndi Anambra about the virus and urged all hands to be on deck to fight the disease.
The Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Christian Mmadubuko charged transporters to always document their passengers and keep to the preventive measures, as anyone found guilty will be sanctioned accordingly.
A Consultant, Mr. Lucky Chidi Kalu took the participants on the various ways to prevent the Disease.
He listed regular and thorough washing of hands with soap and running water, alcohol based sanitizer, covering of mouth and nose as some of the ways to prevent the spread of the virus.
The Commissioner for Culture Indigenous Artworks, Tourism and Diaspora Affairs Mrs. Sally Mbanefo was represented by the acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Emmanuel Umeokana.
Others were the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on General Hospital, Mrs. Nwamaka Arinze, the Director of Public Health and Disease Control of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Uchechukwu Onyejimbe among others.
