The Chairman of Anambra Vision 2070 Committee, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo says the Committee will ensure that the final document is an Anambra Plan.


Professor Soludo who spoke while addressing members of the committee at their ongoing Two-day plenary retreat holding at Golden Tulip Hotel, Agulu, stressed that successive government can rely on the plan for strategic directions of policy programmes and regulations and which Ndi Anambra may also used to evaluate future governments.


Professor Soludo explained that, Governor Willie Obiano inaugurated the sixty-man committee on the twenty-first of November 2019 and charged it to draft a fifty-Year Perspective Plan for Anambra state, and to bequeath the plan as a legacy to Ndi Anambra, pointing out the plan will be an all inclusive and not for a specific government or political party.


While welcoming the participants, the Secretary of the Committee and also the Secretary to Anambra state government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu encouraged them to diligently apply themselves during the two-days in other to stimulate fruitful dialogue, critically examine successful models elsewhere that can be adapted and premises for evidence-based projections and envisioning of the future of Anambra state.


A member of the Committee, Honourable Primus Odili who is also the Chief of Staff to Governor Willie Obiano said that economic, political, technological and social changes in the Nigerian and global environment have made it critical that Anambra state must engage in futuristic planning if it is to maintain competitiveness.
The plenary retreat will end on Wednesday, eighteenth March.
