The National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye, has sympathized with the families of victims of the gas explosion that occurred in Lagos on Sunday.
In a statement in Awka, Chief Oye expressed deep pain at the unfortunate incident, which he described as a tragedy of incalculable proportion.
He called on the Federal Government to introduce stringent measures that would regulate the siting of gas dispensing facilities across the country, expressing worry at the indiscriminate siting of gas plants, especially in Lagos.
Chief Oye regretted that the tragedy that occurred was totally avoidable and prayed God to console the families of those that lost their lives and properties in the inferno, urging Nigerians not to locate public facilities such as schools and churches close to the plants.
