Suggestions and solutions on how to diversify the Nigeria economy top deliberations, as officials of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission visit Anambra State.


The event, held at the Government House, Awka attracted all the relevant stakeholders as well as the organized private sector.


Addressing members of the Commission and other participants during an interactive session, the Secretary to Anambra State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu represented by the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Secretary to the state government, Mr. Emma Ude-Akpeh appreciated members of the Commission for the visit, and assured that the state will give them maximum cooperation to achieve their objectives.


Professor Chukwulobelu said that the Willie Obiano administration has diversified Anambra State economy, hence the revolution in the agricultural sector among others and pointed out that vision 2070 equally captured the gains of diversification of the economy in totality.


Earlier, the leader of the team, Professor Isah Mohammed, represented by a Deputy Director in the Commission, Mr. Ahmed Maikano explained that they were in Anambra State to monitor various economic diversification policies of the State government, as Nigeria can no longer survive on mono economy that is, depending only on oil and gas.


The Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture, Mr. Paul Nwosu delivered lecture on the exploits of the Obiano administration on agriculture.


Others present during the interactive session were, officials of the Ministry of Finance, that of Budget and Economic Planning, Agriculture, Mines and Steels,
Others were Science and Technology, Anambra Internal Revenue Board, Culture, Tourism and Diaspora Affairs, organized private sector among others.
