In commemoration of Mother’s Sunday, the Women of the Church of Pentecost Awka, have donated gift items to the management and staff of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Awka.


The Leader of the group, Mrs Adaobi Okafor, presented the items to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the ABS, Nze Uche Nworah at the station’s Cooperate Headquarters, Awka.


The mothers joined their counterparts in marking the 2020 Mothers’ Sunday, set aside by the Church to recognize the tireless efforts of mothers to the development of the society.


The gifts are in line with the tradition of reaching out to the public irrespective of age, gender, political and religious inclinations reminding them of mothers’ love.


According to Mrs Okafor, ABS serves as the mouth piece of South East thus the reason for the Church to extend its love and prayers to them as it is in the character of mothers to surprise and reward their children.


Receiving the group, Nze Nworah, who appreciated the group for the gifts, charged them to use the period and advise young ladies to desist from disposing unwanted child or pregnancy in line with the message of the Wife of the state Governor, Dr Ebelechukwu Obiano when she visited Oko to reunite a child, who was disposed by her student-mother.


The ABS Boss asked the organization to carry the message of early preventive measures of Coronavirus pandemic which according to him, is threatening the world by maintaining regular hand washing, staying away from crowd and keeping a six feet distance from one another as well as contact emergency number from the ministry of health for proactive action when ill .
