The Vicar in charge, Saint Andrews Church Ebenator, Reverend Godson Ugochukwu said strange things happening around the world are strong signals that call for repentance and reconciliation with God.
Reverend Ugochukwu stated this during the burial service of Late Ezinne Deborah Igwilo, presided over by the retired Archbishop Province of the Niger and Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Reverend Godwin Okpala at the deceased compound, Ebenator, Nnewi South council area.
Ezinne Deborah Igwilo, who died at the age of eighty-eight was the mother in-law to Sir Oselloka Offoh, a former Managing Director of the ABS and General Manager Communications, Dozzy Group of Companies.
Correspondent, Oggorchukwu Oranu reports that Reverend Ugochukwu in a sermon captioned “Don’t Joke with This Warning” said what happened in Sodom and Gomorrah is not far from what is happening in the world today and urged Christians to amend their ways.
He regretted that so many people are going back to idolatry, called on mothers to emulate the life of the biblical Deborah, who did exploits saying that late Ezinne Deborah has concluded her race and left peacefully.
In a tribute at the graveside, the brother in-law of the deceased, Sir Frank Nnabuike Igwilo disclosed that late Ezinne Deborah, who according to him was a symbol of love, held her large family together and refused to give in, in times of difficulties.
In an interview, Sir Oselloka appreciated the good deeds of his mother in-law, whom he said, contributed immensely to the development of her community and the church and prayed for the repose of her soul.
The deceased first son, Senior Pastor Nnaemeka Igwilo said his mother symbolized peace and promised to uphold it among them while the daughters, Mrs. Anneth Ifebuleme and Lady Jane Offoh expressed joy that their mother died at a ripe age and thanked God for the good life she led while on earth.
Another of the son in-law, Ogbuchi Jonas, and granddaughter, Pharmacist Sandra Offoh, described the deceased as a loving mother whose vacuum is irreplaceable.
The burial attracted traditional rulers, media practitioners, dignitaries from all walks of life, the clergy including Venerable Mgbemena, who represented Most Reverend Alex Ibezim and Venerable John Nkwoemezie, who represented Bishop on the Niger, Right Reverend Owen Nwokolo and other pastors from the Redeemed church.
Performances by St. Andrews’ Mothers Union and condolences by friends, relations and in-laws concluded the burial rites.
