The Anambra State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps has commenced monitoring to ensure that commercial bus drivers comply with the State government’s directive to the transport sector over the corona-virus pandemic.
The Sector Commander of the Corps, Mr Andrew Kumapayi who disclosed this to the ABS said that the State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps is carrying out the monitoring exercise alongside Anambra Traffic Management Agency ATMA, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, as well as the Nigeria Police.
According to Mr Kumapayi the joint patrol team visited all parks within the State adding that the exercise will be sustained to ensure that the aim is fully achieved.
He expressed satisfaction that majority of the transport unions especially that of the tricycle have already complied with the directive of not carrying more than two passengers at once.
Mr Kumapayi urged Motorists to always make use of hand sanitizers, nose guards as part of measures to check the corona-virus pandemic.
He extolled the Anambra State government for series of measures put in place to check the spread of the virus and commended the Media especially the Anambra Broadcasting Service for its various awareness programmes on the corona-virus pandemic calling for its sustenance.
