In a bid to cushion the economic effect of coronavirus lockdown in his constituency, the member representing Aguata One Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Dr Carter Umeh has distributed food items and preventive materials to his constituents.
The event held at Umuchu Civic Center attracted women Presidents General of the six communities in Aguata One Constituency and Councilors of the council area.
Items distributed by the Lawmaker were bags of rice, tubers of yam, cartons of noodles, hand sanitizers and packages of face mask.
Honourable Umeh used Women Leaders of the communities in his constituency and Councilors to deliver the items to the downtrodden in the area .
Addressing the gathering, Dr Umeh called on his constituents to continue to carry out all the preventive measures Anambra State Government has put in place to prevent coronavirus from entering into the state, even as he commended Governor Willie Obiano for giving out stimulus economic packages to Ndi Anambra who are up to seventy years and above to cushion the economic effects of the ravaging coronavirus on them.
On her part, the Leader of all the Women Leaders in Aguata One Constituency, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Umenwariri noted that Dr Umeh has demonstrated exemplary leadership by giving succour to the vulnerable persons in his constituency and assured that the items will be delivered to the targeted persons.
The Personal Assistant to Dr Umeh on Media and Publicity, Mr. John Obijeme, urged the people to always wash their hands with soap and running water for at least twenty-seconds, observe social distancing at all times among others to avoid contracting the deadly coronavirus that is ravaging the globe.
