Boundary Closure : Anambra To Sustain Monitoring To Enforce Compliance The Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Christian Mmadubuko says the Ministry will continue to monitor all boundaries between the state and its neighbours to ensure total compliance on closure.


Dr. Mmadubuko made this known when he led members of his team to the boundary between Anambra and Enugu State, at Omasi, in Ayamelum Local Government Area.


Speaking to the ABS after the monitoring exercise, Dr. Mmadubuko explained that it is aimed at ensuring that the boundary closure by the Anambra State government is strictly adhered to by motorists in order to ensure that the State is free from Corona-virus.


The Commissioner pointed out that his Ministry is committed to inspecting all the boundaries between Anambra State and her neighbours to ensure effective compliance.


For the transition Committee Chairman for Ayamelum Local Government Area, Mr. Benjamin Onyeabor, the council has embarked on sensitization campaign to educate the people of the area about the virus, as well as inform them of all the necessary measures to take to be safe from COVID-19 as stipulated by the government.


The Special Assistant to the Governor on Environment, Mr. Obi Okoye who is an indigene of the area commended the Obiano administration for the proactive steps it has taken to keep Ndi Anambra safe from COVID-19 pandemic.


The Transport Commissioner and his team later went to Onitsha where they monitored compliance to boundary closure on Bridge Head.


The team warned those selling food items on the road to desist forthwith.
Paramedics were stationed at the Bridge Head Onitsha by the Anambra State Government to check people’s temperature.
