Anambra State government has continued to monitor compliance to the closure of boundaries at its boundaries with Imo, Enugu and Abia states.
The Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Christian Mmadubuko expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance during his routine monitoring of various boundaries around the state as part of measures to prevent Coronavirus from entering the state ABS Correspondent Chibuzo Obidike reports that the areas visited included Uga- Akokwa Imo boundary, Ihite- Arondizuogu Imo boundary, Owerre Ezukala- Umunneochi Abia boundary, Owerre-Ezukalla -Enugu boundary and Umuchukwu-Ndeato Abia state boundary among others all in Aguata and Orumba South Local Government Areas Speaking shortly after testing the temperature of security operatives at the various boundaries visited, Dr. Mmadubuko commended the level of collaboration between the local government Councils and security agencies towards achieving the set goals.
The Transport Commissioner re-emphasized state government’s warning against any attempt to resist the ban on movement of vehicles into the state which he said would be severely dealt with accordingly to the law as the closure is to protect residents from contracting the virus from people coming from infected states and areas.
The Commissioner for Housing, Architect Mike Okonkwo in his remarks commended the team for extending the monitoring to all the boundaries connecting the state with other states.
Also speaking, the Transition Committee Chairmen of Aguata and Orumba South Dr. Eche Ezeibe and Barriester Raymond Onyegu lauded the efforts of the present government in ensuring the protection of lives and property as well as the comfort of its citizens and assured them that they will remain watchful and report any suspected symptoms of the virus to government.
