The National Chairman, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Ozonkpu Dr Victor Ike Oye, has commended members of the Anambra State House of Assembly for keying into the COVID-19 initiative of the party by distributing food stuff and other health items such as sanitizers, buckets and detergents, in their various constituencies.
In a statement released in Abuja on Easter Monday, Dr. Oye expressed satisfaction with the reports he received from different parts of the state about the performance of the honourable members in these times of hardship and uncertainty caused by COVID-19 pandemic.
“The massive distribution of relief materials by the members of the House has complemented the efforts of the Governor Willie Obiano’s administration and APGA in ensuring that the people of Anambra State did not experience unnecessary hardship at this critical period of our national life,” Dr. Oye stated.
He described the 7th Assembly of the Anambra State House of Assembly as one of the best in the country, urging them not to allow any external forces or primordial interests come between them and working altruistically and harmoniously with the executive to make life better for the people.
The APGA Boss thanked the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor, for mobilising his colleagues to engage in this philanthropic gesture, assuring him of his cooperation at all times in the discharge of his onerous duties.
He used the opportunity to commend Governor Willie Obiano for his visionary leadership that has seen Anambra emerging as one of the states with the least number of COVID-19 infected persons.
