Chief Joseph Ezeokafor, Chairman and Managing Director of Jezco Group has donated the sum of twenty million naira to Anambra State Government to help in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.


Chief Ezeokafor had earlier donated the sum of fifty million naira to the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, to help the party provide relief materials for Ndi Anambra in the one hundred and seventy-nine communities in the state.



Media Consultant to Jezco Group, Mr. Chinedu Obigwe told the ABS that Chief Ezeokafor has in addition, distributed bags of rice and other food items to Ekwulobia people worth over ten million naira.
: Presenting the cheque, the Manager of Jezco Group, Deacon Bennett Ezeamu, said the gesture was in response to the need to assist government in preventing the spread of COVID -19 and cushioning the effects of the lockdown needed to fight the pandemic.


Receiving the donation, the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, said that Chief Ezeokafor is a true son of Anambra known for his philanthropy.


He assured that the state government will judiciously utilize all the donations in containing the spread of the virus and improving health facilities in the state, calling on Ndi-Anambra and corporate organisations operating in the state to support the government’s efforts.


Present during the event were the Member representing Aguata Two Constituency in the State Assembly, Honourable Okechukwu Okoye, and the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the ABS, Chief Uche Nworah.
