Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr John Abang has urged men and officers of the Nigeria Police Force on roads across Anambra state this period of lockdown in the state, to always abide by directives guiding the enforcement of the sit -at -home order by the state government.
Mr. Abang was speaking during a monitoring exercise at the Anambra/Delta states boundary, known as Onitsha Bridgehead, on the people’s compliance with the lockdown order by the state government.
Commissioner Abang warned that any police officer found acting contrary to the rules guiding the enforcement of the order, will be punished accordingly.
Commissioner Abang commended the high compliance of people in the state with the sit -at -home order by the state government as one of the preventive measures against the spread of Coronavirus in Anambra state.
Mr. Abang also reemphasized that it is only people on essential duties and vehicles conveying food items are allowed to ply on the State’s roads.
The Anambra Commissioner of police was accompanied by the Commander 302 Artillery Regiment, Onitsha, A.I. Lapai, State Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. Andrew Kumapayi, Department of State Security, DSS, state Commander, Mr. Alex Agada, state Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Mr. David Bille, Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, state Boss, Mr. Idris Mohammed, among other officers of the security agencies in the state.
