The Anambra State Head of Service, Barrister Harry Udu has urged
workers and indeed Ndi Anambra to take solace in the proactive
measures put in place by the Anambra government in the fight against
the corona virus pandemic.
Barrister Udu who made the call in his
Amawbia residence, called on Ndi Anambra to continue with such preventive measures as social distancing, hand washing and sanitizing, masking and above all, staying at home would help in no small measure in
stemming the spread of the virus.
He however, recognized the hardship the situation pose on families
especially the daily income earners, but said that it is better for
everyone to endure the hardship and stay alive.
Mr. Udu noted that it was for these envisaged hardship that prompted
Anambra State government to begin the palliative programme where it
distributed bags of rice to the vulnerable persons in the State.
He praised Governor Willie Obiano for being sensitive to the plight of
Ndi Anambra and being proactive in the control of the pandemic through
the establishment of disease control centres across the State.
Barrister Udu also appreciated the efforts of workers in the essential
duties who are in the fore-front in the battle against the spread of
the deadly corona virus disease.
The civil service boss called on civil servants who he described as
part of the enlightened community to join in sensitizing the masses on
health practices expected of them at this trying times.
Barrister Udu further assured the workers not to panic as the Governor
remains a father with a good heart who even during the heavy economic
meltdown did not default in payment of salaries and allowances.
