Fumigation of Offices, Streets and Public Places as part of measures aimed at fighting the coronavirus pandemic has commenced in Awka South Local Government Area.
This follows the donation of fumigating materials by a Private Firm to check the spread of COVID-19 in the Local Government Area.
The donation which was in response to the Anambra Sate Government’s call on corporate organizations, groups and well meaning individuals in the State to support in the fight against the deadly Coronavirus pandemic threatening the world with food items, drugs and other humanitarian services to aid the fight against the virus.
The Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area Transition Committee, Mr Leo Nwuba in company of some staff of the Council, thanked the donor for the gesture which according to him showed solidarity with Government in tackling the present condition confronting the world and called on others to emulate the firm.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Firm Mr. Obinna Okoye said that in line with its social responsibility, the organization decided to embark on the fumigation exercise as a way of assisting the State in the fight against Coronavirus pandemic especially now that most of the citizenry are at home.
Mr Okoye assured that the Firm is committed to assisting the State in the fight against Coronavirus pandemic, by making the environment safe.
