The leadership of New Motor Tyre and Tube Market Nkpor in Idemili North Local Government Area have joined other well meaning Nigerians to condemn the killing of two young men in the area by a Police patrol team moving round to enforce the lockdown order issued by the Anambra State Government against the spread of Coronavirus describing the incident as shocking and unfortunate.

Briefing journalists in Nkpor, the President of the Market Mr Okechukwu Atueyi said the traders who were sitting at home in compliance with lockdown directive by the State Government received the sad news that two people were shot and killed at Ezego Street behind New Tyre Market with rude shock adding that the traders totally condemned the killings.

While commemorating with the families of the victims and also calling on the State Commissioner of Police Mr John Abang to ensure that the Police men who fired the killer bullets are brought to book, Mr Atueyi distanced New Tyre Market and its traders from the incident.

He dismissed the reports making the rounds in the Media that the Traders in the Market were involved in the fracas with the Police patrol team which led to the killing of two young men since according to him, the traders were observing the lockdown order over coronavirus as directed by the Anambra State government.
