Seven hundred and twenty indigent persons in Nnobi community have received succor from distribution of food items by the Chief executive Officer of Seaman Group Mr. Emeka Agbanari.
The beneficiaries were draw ten each form the seventy-two internal wards of the community.

Paul Ezeoke reports that the beneficiaries made up of men and women received one bag of rice and one carton of noodles while the distribution exercise followed basic principles of social distancing.

The donor, Mr. Agbanari said the intervention was to help cushion the adverse economic effects of the sit-at-home order resulting from the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He noted that the present situation has made it difficult for less privileged people to source for their daily living which made it necessary for more privileged persons to respond to their plight by giving them assistance within their reach.

Mr. Agbanari commended Governor Willie Obiano for the various measures put in place to prevent the spread of the various in the state as well as various economic stimulus packages distributed to various communities and expressed satisfaction with the response of stakeholders towards supporting the government and their various communities to overcome the pandemic.

Also speaking, a former President General of Nnobi Town Union, Dr Mike Omenuagh while commending the donor for his large heart, noted that he has sustained remarkable contributions towards community development and provided life-line to many families and individuals.

Dr. Omenuagha said the visionary leadership and proactive interventions of the Governor have encouraged people to respond positively towards mitigating the hardship occasioned by the scourge and supporting government to win the battle, urging others to emulate them.


Some of the beneficiaries including Mrs. Maureen Mbanefo, Mr.
Okechukwu Akunne, Mr. Emmauel Eziniye and Mrs. Okwelume thanked the donor for assisting them at this difficult economic time, urging God to continue to bless him.
