The Aguleri World Forum has carried out a ten million naira
intervention exercise to curb the effect of coronavirus on people of
the community.

The Project which is in conjunction with the Aguleri National Youth
Association targets at the poor and the less privileged persons in the
six communities that make up Aguleri community.

Correspondent Amaka Chibuzor Okoye reports that
the relief materials which include over one hundred ten
kilogrammes of rice and beans as well as vegetable oil and other food
items will be disbursed by the response team set up by the Aguleri
World Forum and National Youth Association.

Speaking during the symbolic presentation at Aguleri, Añambra East
Council area, the traditional ruler of Aguleri, Dr Michael Idigo said
that the pandemic has put fear and panic in the lives of all.

Dr Idigo noted that Aguleri as a community has shown love and
brotherliness by releasing money to support their relations who are
exposed to hardship by the deadly Corona-Virus pandemic.

The President General, Aguleri Central, Barrister Hippo Onwuegbuke
noted that the gesture is indeed a welcome development as they were
known for selfless service calling on those who are yet to identify
with them to comply.

While blessing the materials, a Priest from the community, Reverend
Father John Manafa, called on Ndi Aguleri to adhere strictly to the
preventive measures set up by the state government and World Health
Organisation as the virus has no cure, even as he commended the
governor for being proactive in fighting the scourge.

In their separate speeches, the President, Aguleri National Youth
Association, Chief Nnamdi Adimora-Ikeli , the first vice chairman of
Aguleri World Forum, Barrister Oba Eluno and the Head of COVID-19
response team, Sir George Udedibia said that the materials were
provided by the good spirited Ndi Aguleri who saw the need of the down
trodden among them.

The traditional ruler of Mkpunando Aguleri,Igwe Alex Edoziuno and his
Eziagulu Otu counterpart, Igwe Udorji Ikegbunem who were present
extolled the team spirit of Ndi Aguleri, praying God to bless and
replenish their pockets.
