A philanthropist from Abagana, Sir Uche Okonkwo has distributed food
items to indigenes of his community as a way of cushioning the economic
hardship resulting from the present lockdown.
The items, one hundred bags of ten kg Rice and one bag of Onions were
distributed at Ezeibe Square, Ofozalla Umudunu Abagana.
Speaking at the event, Sir Uche promised to always show concern to members of the community especially the vulnerable.
Sir Uche, who asked them to obey and see the sit-at-home order as a
sacrifice for the benefit of all, commended the economic stimulus of
the Obiano administration which motivated them to contribute to their
various communities to give hope to the needy among them.
The Coordinators of the programme, Mr Uche Uzuanwu and William
Mmadunwobi, who distributed the items , assured of
judicious distribution.
Two of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Patricia Onwubuya and Patricia
Nwabueze showered encomiums on the benefactor and recalled that before now, he had been identifying with them and prayed God to reward him
abundantly.
Correspondent, Amaka Chibuzor-Okoye reports that the distribution was
done under observation of the social distance order of the state government.
