Ndi Anambra have been called upon to observe government’s laid down
guidelines as parts of efforts to avoid contraction and spread of
COVID-19 pandemic now that the lockdown order has been relaxed.
In a release signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and
Chieftaincy matters Mr. Greg Obi, to provide additional guidelines
necessitated by the relaxed lockdown order, government
reiterated that all residents must wear face marks outside their
homes.
According to the release, all social distancing guideline stipulated
by World Health Organizations and Nigerian Center for Disease Control
NCDC, must be followed for public gathering, market places, bus stands
and all other events including maintaining a distance of two meters
from each other.
It said that all traditional rulers, Presidents General, Community
Leaders and Law Enforcement Agencies are to ensure that the above
guidelines are strictly complied with.
According to the release State government encourages families to bury their loved ones as soon as death occurs in ceremonies numbering not more them thirty people while they maintain guidelines for face mask and social
distancing.
It added that those who desire may conduct more elaborate ceremonies
in remembrance of their loved ones when the COVID-19 pandemic is over.
