Over six hundred people have received stimulus package from the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, Chief Victor Oye, to cushion the effect of COVID-19 pandemic.

The distribution which took place at Amawbia Town Hall attracted community leaders, government functionaries, APGA Stakeholders among others.


The stimulus package which included cash was distributed in strict adherence to social distancing with the use of face masks.
Declaring the event open the traditional ruler designate of Amawbia Chief Chinyelu Molokwu who commended the APGA National Chairman for having the interest of the people at heart advised the beneficiaries to ensure peaceful co-existence amongst the people of the Community.
Speaking on behalf of the APGA National Chairman Chief Oye the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Environment, Mr Mike Nwofor said the stimulus packages were not for the people of Amawbia alone but also for non-indigenes living in the Community.


Speaking to the ABS in an interview, the Principal Secretary to Governor Willie Obiano Sir Willie Nwokoye, maintained that Governor Obiano has shown what leadership is all about by taking proactive measures towards curbing the pandemic from spreading in the State.


In their separate interviews, the National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Grand Alliance Mr Sly Ezeokenwa, the Transition Committee Chairman for Awka South Local Government Area, Mr Leo Nwuba and APGA National Youth Leader, Mr Chinedu Nebeife noted the APGA National Chairman has been living the life of giving noting that this was the third time Chief Oye is distributing palliatives to the people irrespective of party affiliation and called on other affluent individuals in the society to emulate him.


Others who spoke during the event including the Member representing Awka South Constituency One at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Dr Nnamdi Okafor and APGA Chairman for Awka South Local Government Area, Mrs Chikodili Nonyelum, thanked Chief Oye for touching the lives of the vulnerable people in the society noting that his gesture is worthy of emulation.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the benefactor for remembering them and prayed God to continue showering His blessings on him.
