The Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Ebelechukwu Obiano, has
inaugurated and donated a bungalow and water borehole to a widow, Mrs
Ifeoma Ogbuanukwu, of Umuehi Village, Akwaihedi in Nnewi South Local
Government Area.

Inaugurating the projects while emphasizing strict compliance with
Covid-19 preventive measures, Dr. Obiano said the gesture was in line
with the objectives of the Caring Family Enhancement Initiative CAFE,
to build houses for indigent widows, noting that twenty-seven houses
have been built and handed over to beneficiaries across Anambra State.
The Governor’s wife who explained that the Covid-19 pandemic has
drastically changed the world, forcing people to stay at home, said
the new two-bedroom bungalow was intended to ensure that the
beneficiary stays at home and safe, calling for support to CAFÉ
activities.

The Transition Committee Chairman for Nnewi South Local Government
Area Mr Chieloka Okoye and the Executive Assistant to Governor Willie
Obiano on Community Liaison Mr Chukwuma Agbasinwa commended the
Governor’s Wife for putting smile on the faces of the people,
irrespective of party affiliations.

The beneficiary, Mrs Ogbuanukwu, who lost her husband about six years
ago, said life has been so difficult for her and children and thanked
the Governor’s wife for providing them with shelter.


The Traditional ruler of Akwaihedi, Igwe Cornelius Onebunne, the
Caretaker Chairman of Akwaihedi Town Union, Mr. Emeka Okwuegbu,
Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Mrs Ndidi Mezue, as well
as the Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in Akwaihedi,
Mr. Joseph Obi were in attendance as keys to the building were handed
over to the beneficiary.
