The wife of the Governor of Anambra state, Dr. Ebelechekwu Obiano, has donated a newly commissioned bungalow and water borehole to a widow, Mrs Monica Okeke, of Ezihu Village in Igbo-Ukwu, Aguata Local Government Area.

Presenting keys to the beneficiary, Dr. Obiano said that the new two-bedroom bungalow was to ensure that the beneficiary stays at home and safe, in the spirit of being one’s brother’s and sister’s keeper, adding that water boreholes and toilets are equally being sunk in markets to ensure that people imbibe personal and environmental hygiene.

The Member representing Aguata Two Constituency in the State Assembly, Honourable Okechukwu Okoye, who commended the Governor’s Wife for using her NGO, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative to put smiles on the faces of people, irrespective of their party affiliations, said her charitable deeds have endeared her to Ndi-Anambra.

The beneficiary, Mrs Okeke, who lost her husband many years ago, said life has been so difficult for her and her children, and thanked God for using the Governor’s wife to provide shelter to them.

The Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Emeka Ozumba, were in attendance during the event.
