Governor Willie Obiano has commended Access Bank PLC for donating one hundred beds to a protection centre at Umueri General Hospital in the fight against coronavirus disease.


Governor Obiano who made the commendation when he inspected the centre where it was observed that the bank has donated one hundred beds in addition to the twenty beds earlier provided by Anambra state government thanked the management of the bank for fulfilling their promise, and disclosed that Fidelity Bank is also equipping a center at Ekwulobia General Hospital.

While recalling that the Umueri General Hospital is the oldest hospital in the area, the Governor said that Access Bank will soon open a branch of its bank in Umueri.


He called on Ndi Anambra to adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines against the spread of the virus, assuring that his administration will continue to do everything within its power to contain the situation.


The Traditional Ruler of Umueri, Igwe Ben Emeka pledged the support of the community to the present government, appreciating the Governor for attracting such facility to Umueri, including the International Cargo Airport which is still massively undergoing construction.
