The Nigerian Breweries PLC has donated one hundred and fifty trays of 33cl Maltina drinks, gallons of hand sanitizer and face masks to the Anambra State Government to help its fight against the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Presenting the items, the Public Affairs Manager, East, of the Company, Mr. Isaac Nwabuzor, accompanied by the Human Resources Manager of the Company, Mr. Onyeka Okoh, said the gesture was in response to the call by the Anambra State Government for assistance in fighting the spread of the virus in the state, and to cushion the effects of the lockdown needed to fight the pandemic.
Receiving the items, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu said the State Government will judiciously utilize all the donations in containing the spread of the virus and improving health facilities in the state, calling on Ndi-Anambra and corporate organisations operating in the state to support the government’s efforts.
Professor Chukwulobelu stated that arrangements have been made to extend distribution of Covid-19 palliative packages to the vulnerable groups, Orphanage homes and non indigenes living in the State, calling on the people to be more vigilant, even at the ease of the lockdown directed by the Government.
The State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C. Don Adinuba, who witnessed the donation, commended the Nigerian Breweries PLC for being alive to their social responsibilities, adding that the supports gotten so far from Ndi-Anambra and other corporate organizations operating in the state is a boost to the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
