Following Anambra Government’s proactive measures in the fight against spread of Coronavirus pandemic, the Ministry of Social Welfare, Women and Children Affairs has embarked on fumigation of its offices located at the Prof.

Commissioner for Social Welfare, Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue explained that the fumigation was one of the strategies aimed at curtailing the spread of the virus.

The Commissioner stated that the fight against COVID-19, which is a global pandemic needs all hands to be on deck to avoid the spread of the deadly disease.

Lady Ndidi directed that all workers and visitors in and around the office complex, must wear face masks, wash and sanitise their hands for at least twenty seconds in line with the guidelines provided by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

She distributed free face masks and sanitisers to all the departments within her ministry.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Dan Ezeanwu thanked the Commissioner, who he said is committed to the development of Anambra State and assured her that all the directives given by the Government in the fight against the global pandemic would be fully implemented.
