Anambra State Government is to adopt aggressive learning approach in the education system.
The Commissioner for Basic Education, Professor Kate Omenugha, disclosed this during an ABS programme, ”Anambra Express”.
The Commissioner who said that the Ministry is embarking on training of teachers for post COVID-19 ahead of resumption of schools also announced that the Ministry of Public Utilities has embarked on inspection of school facilities across the state as a measure to curb the spread of the virus among various schools.
On resumption of schools, she said that it will be based on COVID-19 compliance, pointing out that the state government will embrace wise opening approach and shift learning.
Professor Omenugha who intimated that the ministry has selected best teachers for COVID-19 blended and E-learning, disclosed that the Federal Government has initiated portals and websites for sharing of knowledge, a situation, which according to her will be beneficial to rural dwellers.
Speaking on “Anambra Teaching on Air”, Professor Omenugha called on parents to develop interest and align with the programme.
She commended the ASUBEB chairman, as well as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ABS, Nze Uche Nworah for kick starting the programme and disclosed that plans are underway for the inclusion of sign language for the physically challenged persons in the state.
