The Minister of Sports Mr Sunday Dare has presented the sum of fifty thousand naira as well as food items and beverages to Mrs Janet Okwaraji, Mother of the fallen Super Eagles Star Mr Samuel Okwaraji.
The Minister who was represented by Mr Bamidele Ajayi, made the presentation at the home of the late Super Eagles Star in Abakpa-Nike in Enugu State.
Other items donated include food items and beverages.
Presenting the items, the Minister of Sports Mr Dare described the late Samuel Okwaraji as a great professional who redefined football in Nigeria with many young talents benefiting from his ingenuity and sacrifices by re-writing the Country’s name in gold in world football.
Responding, the eldest son of the Okwaraji family, Mr. Patrick Okwaraji, thanked the Minister for the kind gesture.
The late Sam Okwaraji, who was born on nineteenth May 1964, slumped and died on twelfth August, 1989 during a 1990 World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Angola at the National Stadium, Lagos.
Recall that the Minister of Sports recently presented cash and food items to the Mother of another fallen Super Eagles Star, Mr Rashidi Yekini, in Kwara State.
