The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on APGA Affairs, Mr Nnanna Nzewi has doled out palliative materials to over one hundred indigent persons in his Community, Umuogboo Obiofia Nnewichi, in Nnewi North Local Government Area.
Items distributed include: bags of rice and beans, face masks as well as cash, while twenty school children bagged scholarships for both primary and secondary education.
According to the benefactor, the palliative materials were for the poor at Saint Joseph’s Anglican Church Obiofia, Saint Charles Catholic Church Obiofia and other denominations, especially people living with disability, non-indigenes and other vulnerable groups in the community.
Mr Nzewi who is also the Co-ordinator of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, New Media Group enjoined the people to learn the art of giving, pointing out that it is in giving that one will receive, stressing that alms giving, compassion, and genuine philanthropy are virtues that can preserve humanity.
The APGA stalwart also called on the people of Umuogboo Obiofia Nnewichi and other well meaning individuals in Nnewi to support the poor in their midst to survive this covid-19 pandemic.
While urging the beneficiaries to be grateful that they are still alive despite the covid-19 pandemic ravaging the world, he appreciated Governor Willie Obiano and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, Chief Victor Oye for finding him worthy to serve the present administration in the State.
In their separate remarks, the Obi of Umuogboo, Chief Ezekiel Izuchukwu, the President-General of Umuogboo Obiofia Nnewichi, Mr Ikechukwu Okafor, Mr Wilson Izuchukwu among others prayed God to continue to guide Mr Nzewi.
